Broadway is Not Always Pretty

Sometimes, you make your hand on the flop, but you're not in a good place.

Welcome to Mike Heshmati's place ...

The flop sure looked like one where there's a lot of action coming

Kc Kc Kc

Yep, there's a postflop bet from Chuck Hawkins (above), a call by Billy Casey, a shove by Heshmati for about 28,000, a call by Hawkins and now it is Casey wondering what to do.

Casey shows Kc and worries someone else has Kc, so he mucks what could be an open-ended straight flush / royal flush draw, convinced he's drawing only to the Kc and no other card.

Well, you see, what happened was

Heshmati showed Kc Kc - he flopped broadway
Hawkins showed Kc Kc - he flopped a straight
Casey would have been drawing to higher flushes for any remaining spade in the deck.

The board goes Kc Kc

Heshmati is left with 3BB
Casey dodged an elimination
Hawkins moves to 65,000

There's a LevelUp as I write this, action now moving to

Level - 8
Antes - 100
Blinds - 400/800
